What else can directors learn?
There are nine Brexit Business Readiness Events in England, two in Northern Ireland, two in Scotland and one in Wales.
A government official will give a “Get Ready for Brexit” keynote address on Brexit preparations including what known changes are going to happen and advice and access to support ahead of the date to make any appropriate changes.
There will be advice stands at the venues with answering questions and covering importing from and exporting to the EU; employing EU citizens and transferring personal data.
There will also be more in-depth insight seminars delivered by subject area experts on:
- Trading with non-EU countries
- Advanced business preparation for businesses in the food and drink, farming, fisheries, waste and chemical sectors
- Preparing energy businesses for Brexit
- Planning and preparation for service industries
- Data protection, Intellectual Property and Brexit
The sessions are free and attendees can stay for the whole day or just the parts that are most relevant to them.
The sessions are being promoted heavily on social media, television and radio and despite opposition, the government will argue that until a deal is achieved, the UK will leave the EU on October 31st.
